We make plans for tomorrow, for Friday, next weekend or next year.  We get so busy with the day-to-day. Almost all of us forget that tomorrow may never arrive.  We are all guilty of this, each and every one of us.  I am no different.  Those plans we made for the night out on Saturday may never come to be.  We never stop and think about what it would be like if we lost the person we were making those plans with.  Or if they lost you.

I’m not suggesting that we all walk around with a countdown timer on our head or worry about death, because you simply can’t.  Death is inevitable and fearing it will only lesson the quality of the time you have before it happens.  What I’m saying, is that we all need to stop and take a step back from ourselves, from our busy lives.  We need to realize how amazing each day truly is.  We are given a gift every single day we wake up.  Don’t waste it.  Don’t take it for granted.  There will be a day when you or someone you love, doesn’t get to wake up.  Make sure that when that day comes, you have loved and cherished every day before it.  Make sure that you have truly lived your life to the fullest.  Tell the people in your life how much they mean to you as often as possible.  Remind yourself how blessed you truly are because no matter how bad you think you have it, it could always be worse.

One you start looking at life through the eyes of someone who almost lost theirs, a weird thing will happen.  You will realize how amazing your’s is.  So cheer up, smile, and do that thing you have been wanting to do, the trip you have been putting off.  Go drive on your lunch break and find peace in your thoughts.  Get together with friends even though you may be tired from working.  I guarantee you are thinking, right now, of something you have been putting off that you would love to do.  Stop trying to plan everything in your life because sometimes plans are just a new way of saying “eventually.”  What are you waiting for?  Do it!  Tomorrow is almost Yesterday.
